A Swift Farewell Unleashes Emotional New Single 'Silence' Alongside Exciting Lineup Change

Produced and mixed by Nat Sherwood (Besties, Weightless, Sarah Saint James), with drum engineering by Chris Blancato (Northlane, Vilify, Reliqa) and mastering by Grant Berry of Fader Mastering (Stand Atlantic, Yours Truly, Redhook), 'Silence' ushers in a new musical chapter for the band.

Opening with a dark yet captivating guitar riff and electronic drum loops, the song gradually builds tension. Vocalist Ryo delivers haunting harmonies in the pre-chorus, leading to an explosive chorus brimming with angst. The track’s dynamic structure takes listeners on a rollercoaster ride, culminating in an unconventional outro that forgoes the traditional final chorus, making for an impactful conclusion.

Lyrically, 'Silence' delves into the emotional exhaustion of constantly supporting someone who fails to reciprocate. The chorus encapsulates the sentiment perfectly:

"Silence, there's nothing like silence"

a desperate plea for peace amid relentless emotional turmoil.Alongside the new single, A Swift Farewell proudly welcomes Gabrielle Michael as their new bassist. Having previously filled in on tour, Gabrielle is now a full-time member, bringing a fresh dynamic to the band’s chemistry. Reflecting on the transition:

"I’m beyond excited to be teaming up with my very best friends in A Swift Farewell. It feels like a long time coming after filling in on bass for them on tour. Nothing feels better than sharing the stage with people who you not only love, but know that they share the same deep passion for the art you create together."

To celebrate the release of 'Silence', A Swift Farewell is set to deliver electrifying performances:

  • February 15 – Supporting UK pop-punk band As December Falls at The Lansdowne, Sydney
  • February 28 – Headlining Good Intent’s 'After Dark' event at The Lansdowne, Sydney

With a track record of sharing the stage with notable acts like Lil Lotus (USA), Yours Truly, Hands Like Houses, Bloom, and Future Static, the band continues to solidify their reputation for delivering high-energy, unforgettable live performances.
