Ethereal Folk Artist Of Lion Unveils Haunting New EP 'Calendar'

Filipino-Australian artist Of Lion, the introspective and enchanting folk project of Izzy De Leon, is set to release her much-anticipated EP 'Calendar' on March 21. The four-track offering, produced by Shan (Safety Club) and mastered by Callan Orr (Dream on Dreamer), delivers a spellbinding blend of delicate instrumentals and poignant lyricism, cementing Of Lion’s reputation as a rising force in the ethereal folk music scene.

Aligning with the spectral sounds of artists like Ethel Cain, Forma Norte, and Grouper, 'Calendar' immerses listeners in a world of haunting melodies and deeply personal storytelling. Of Lion, self-described as "sparkly sad", crafts music that lingers long after listening, weaving intricate emotions into each note and lyric.
“Working with Shan to bring these songs to life felt so seamless, I wrote these songs years ago and had to take the time to heal from that situation before I started working on them. Shan brought so many production ideas that really transformed them and added so much character. I really couldn’t be prouder.”
The EP’s release follows the success of her recent collaboration ‘Talk’ with Lemonade Baby, which earned a coveted spot on KEXP’s rotation, along with widespread editorial play listing on Spotify. Recognised for her ethereal vocals and innovative artistry, Of Lion has received acclaim from outlets such as Roadie Music and Earmilk, further solidifying her standing in the alternative music landscape.Beyond her solo work, Izzy De Leon is a dynamic presence in the Australian music industry. A full-time touring bassist for artists including Thelma Plum, Wayside, Pink Matter, and WAAX, she has carved a name for herself as a versatile musician. She also holds the title of Converse All-Star for AU/NZ 2024-25 and enjoys an endorsement from Detroit-based guitar company Reverend.
With 'Calendar', Of Lion invites listeners into her most personal and evocative work yet, a collection of songs that not only showcase her musical prowess but also her journey of healing and artistic evolution.
