It was a calm, peaceful week in Tasmania… that was until King Parrot descended on the Apple Isle for their 'Swoopin’South' tour.

Bringing with them; huge riffs, brutal grind-core, and utter chaos. King Parrot’s shows, which spanned across Devonport, Launceston, and Hobart, were a highly energetic and memorable experience for those who were lucky enough to attend. King Parrot’s dedicated following showed up across all three shows, demonstrating their relentless energy and raw, unapologetic style. While in Tassie, they brought along local mates Choof & Mountains of Madness, who warmed up the crowds each night in anticipation of the whole f*ckn show. From the moment they hit the stage at the Pub Rock Diner in Devonport, Tassie crowds knew they were in for something special. Their intense live performance, led by vocalist Matt Young’s ferocious vocals, was high-octane and chaotic, with the Devonport crowd eating out of their hands. It was the band’s first time in Tassie’s North West, and they certainly made it home. Their experience was clear to those in attendance, tearing the venue a new one. The boys certainly made their much-awaited return to Tassie one to remember.

Next up on the list for the lads was to head down the road to Launceston, where they arrived at the Royal Oak Hotel in style. The band’s chemistry never wavered and was palpable throughout. The ability of the band to maintain such hectic intensity throughout the set was impressive. As they blasted through their set with fan favourites like “Shit on the Liver” and “Silly Ol’ Mate,” the sold-out Launnie crowd never wavered, causing chaos upon chaos. The raw, unfiltered sound that King Parrot is known for was captured brilliantly in their live performance, leaving the Launceston crowd, who were lucky enough to be there, grateful.

To cap off what had already been such an experience for King Parrot and the people of Tasmania, the boys finished off in the capital of the state, bringing their mayhem to The Republic Bar. The crowd had been warmed up by Choof & Mountain of Madness, and King Parrot was ready to make the stage their own. The band hit the stage running & gunning as they weaved through their setlist. You’d think by the 3rd show in 3 days the boys would have been well and truly done, but they had so much to give, bringing grind-core to the masses. As they bounced between eras, the band’scrowd interaction created an inclusive and exhilarating atmosphere, cracking jokes and taking the piss, giving the show a unique and personal touch. The grindin’, thrashing, punk rock wrecking machine left the stage for the final time in Tassie and Hobart was left in awe and wanting more.

The combination of their unrelenting energy, musical prowess, and strong connection with the audience made for an unforgettable series of shows. The band's ability to blend technical proficiency with raw energy resulted in performances that were both musically impressive and viscerally exciting. Fans left each instance buzzing with adrenaline, eager for the next opportunity to see the band live. Here’s hoping the next time King Parrot hits Tassie, it’s sooner rather than later.
