Meghna's 'A World Full of Idiots' Explores Fury and Self Awareness

Melbourne based alt electronic pop artist Meghna has wowed us once again with her debut EP, 'A World Full of Idiots'. This six track masterpiece is a compelling exploration of anger, frustration, and the raw emotional intricacies that come with them. Meghna’s EP delivers a soundscape that's both dark and irresistible.

The EP’s emotional core lies in tracks like 'Mountain', which captures Meghna’s reflection on class struggles and the raw indignation experienced by many.

Written at just 14 years old after a life changing visit to Chennai, the song has evolved from a somber acoustic piece to an upbeat drum and bass anthem.

The concept behind 'A World Full of Idiots' is built around the universal experience of rage.

"When you’re angry, you feel like you’re the only one being rational, and like everyone else is an idiot. But maybe you’re the real idiot for letting yourself get so angry over such trivial things"

It’s a reminder of the complex relationship between fury and vulnerability, and the support that music can provide.

'Road Rage'Meghna’s breakout single, serves as a powerful precursor to this EP, embodying her explosive musical style and emotional range.

It’s a track that merges anger and danceable beats into something magical. Already winning the 'Wild One' award, this single sets the tone for the entire project, a portrait of modern fury.

Produced by SB90, 'A World Full of Idiots' blends influences from Berlin's gritty club scene with subtle Indian undertones, resulting in a volatile fusion of hip-hop energy and electronic textures.

Meghna’s smoky vocals, layered atop some of the best beats we've heard, give the entire EP a sleek, dark edge.

Meghna is not just an artist but also a law student, actor, and model. This eclectic mix fuels her work, empowering her to champion both creative expression and social justice. With a growing presence in Australia’s music scene, Meghna is rapidly gaining attention from major outlets like Rolling Stone AUNME, and VICE AU.
