In a recent interview, David Butler shared insight into MISSIO's creative process, revealing the extensive journey behind their latest project, 'I Am Cinco'.

"We’ve been to multiple countries and had 10 different sessions to write and record these 28 songs, It is an epic inspired by some of the great old-school double LPs like The Wall or Melancholy and the Infinite Sadness. We’re not just here to check a box; we’re here to be prolific. It puts our creativity out there in a way no other album has. It’s MISSIO.”

The duo embarked on a global adventure, traveling to multiple countries and holding ten different sessions to write and record the 28 songs that comprise this epic double album. 'I Am Cinco' is not merely an album but a testament to their prolific creativity.

Following the success of their 2023 and 2024 'Cinco' EP series, MISSIO unveils their most definitive vision yet with 'I Am Cinco'. This double album encapsulates five distinct moods; 'I Am Sad', 'I Am High,' 'I Am Awesome', 'I Am Angry', and 'I Am Crazy', offering listeners an immersive sonic journey through a range of emotions.

The genesis of the album began in Austin but reached its fruition during a creative retreat in Mexico City. This cross cultural collaboration infused their music with a rich tapestry of influences, setting the stage for its worldwide release.

'I Am Sad' the six track concept album, starts with the track 'I'm Sad and I Can't Speak', which immediately gives listeners a taste of the MISSIO's first feeling, 'Sadness'. All the tracks bleed seamlessly together, moving through a current of melodic sound.

One stand out track is 'RingTing' featuring the lyrics:

"Self respect is hard to test when I am spun out like the rest".

'I Am Sad' transitions into the next of five concept albums, 'I Am High', starting with a strong track 'Good Vibrations'. The track starts strong, nothing is left as a suprise moving into this next feeling of 'High', showcasing a sound of upbeat 'West Coast' vibes.

'I Am Awesome' starts off with 'Not My Fault', which shows how versitile MISSIO truly are, showcasing five tracks of alternative pop, with classic hooks and catchy choruses.

The final two subcategories are 'I Am Angry' and 'I Am Crazy', where the listener is taking into the darker, edgier side of MISSIO. Such tracks such as 'Aztec Death Whistle', 'Go Fuck Yourself' and 'The Higher You Climb' which showcases the ideas of 'Anger' and 'Craziness'.

Closing the album out is 'Time', which slows the pace of the album back down and finishing on the finals words of:

"Disrespect is something I don't go for, I know you know"
