Nick Keogh Unveils Stirring Indie Rock Anthem ‘The Moment’

Rising indie rock artist Nick Keogh returns with an amazing new single, 'The Moment', a raw and nostalgic reflection on early adulthood, written in collaboration with Johnny Took of DMAs. The track marks another milestone in Keogh’s artistic evolution since his move from rural New South Wales to the vibrant music scene of Melbourne.
Produced by long time collaborator James Seymour (Merpire, Feelds, KIT), 'The Moment' blends static guitars, heart racing drums, and emotive lyricism to create a sonic atmosphere that captures both the chaos and beauty of finding one’s place in the world. Known for his romanticised choruses and emotional vulnerability, Keogh once again delivers a track that’s as cathartic as it is catchy.
“I had just come back from a long tour and was admittedly very hungover. I was feeling a bit lost about my place in the world around me... I feel like I was trying to make up for lost time and was burning the candle at both ends.”
That emotional state is woven into every chord and lyric, crafting a narrative of self discovery, existential restlessness, and late night introspection.
The release follows the success of Keogh’s previous single 'Messina', a sweetly intimate love song that led to a unique collaboration with ice cream chain 'Messina' for a special backyard show. With 'The Moment' , Keogh leans into a more expansive and electrifying sound, while retaining his signature sensitivity and storytelling charm.
His past support slots for acts like Ben Lee, Ruby Fields, and Le Shiv, along with festival appearances at Port Fairy Folk Festival, Laneway, and Mountain Goat Valley Crawl, have cemented him as a dynamic force in the Australian indie scene.
Having also played guitar for indie pop sensation Suzi, Keogh is now channeling his energy fully into his solo career. 'The Moment' showcases an artist stepping confidently into his own space, balancing vibrant production with heartfelt lyrics to create something undeniably resonant.
With praise from Triple J’s Abby Butler, Dave Ruby-Howe, and Anika Luna, Nick Keogh’s star continues to rise and 'The Moment' might just be his defining track yet.
