Power Blue's Fresh Energy with "Reaching Towards The Sun"

Emerging with their debut EP 'Reaching Towards the Sun', Power Blue brings a refreshing blend of indie, jazz, funk, RnB, and reggae, packaged in a lush soundscape. This collection of six tracks bursts with vibrancy, creating an uplifting and polished musical experience.

Following the success of their earlier singles, 'Reaching Towards the Sun' and 'Your Touch', the band is now ready to showcase their full creative journey. Their sound captures the spirit of classic Australian indie, mixed with diverse musical influences, creating a unique yet accessible audio landscape. Each track on the EP explores themes of light, growth, connection, and the quest for meaning through friendship, love, and music. These themes are brought to life with an energy that radiates throughout the entire project.

What started as bedroom demos by siblings Rama and Narada Powderly has evolved into a tight knit band, organically brought together through a shared passion for music. The band's lineup now includes Rohan Menon on bass, Alex Mitchell on drums, and Louis Monaghan on keys and synths. Together, they have honed their unique sound, which has gained them recognition as an exciting live act to watch. Recent performances, including shows with Vanilla Gorilla at the Brunswick Ballroom and The Velvet Club at The Evelyn.

Power Blue’s EP is a product of both studio and home recording. All instruments, except for drums, were recorded in the band’s home studio, while the drum tracks were laid down at Wastelands Studios, located in rural New South Wales. The EP’s sound was mixed by Levi Russell, with additional contributions from Alex Mitchell on 'Interlude' and Shane McCahon on 'Your Touch'. Mastering duties were handled by Levi Russell, ensuring a cohesive and polished finish for each track.

Each track brings its own flavor, from the blissful vibes of the opening track, 'Dawn', to the highly reflective 'Feel It In My Bones', showcasing the band’s ability to blend multiple genres while maintaining a signature sound. The EP is a journey that moves through light, warmth, and depth, offering listeners a new perspective on growth and connection.
