PRETTY BLEAK 'COMING TO TERMS WITH IT ALL'

Melbourne's very own PRETTY BLEAK have again proven that big steps can be made in an even bigger city, their hard work has pushed them towards releasing their most redefined works ever in the form of an EP 'Coming to terms with it all'.

Written and produced by the band themselves, 'Coming to terms with it all' is a masterpiece with its 'Heart-on-sleeve' alt pop that pushes the bands musical ability to the limits in the most authentic way yet. With unique sounds that embodies artists such as Prince and The Band CAMINOPRETTY BLEAK's sound is driven by their incredible infusion of 80's style saxophone, guitar solos and Australiana-infused vocals by front man Sam Thomas.

The EP serves to explore the difficulty of navigating interpersonal relationships on a societal scale, from the perspective of people for whom these things are rarely easy. It details reckoning with obligation, perception, self interest, betrayal, introspection, and resignation or inevitability through the lens of our own personal experiences, whether those be triumphs or catastrophic failures.”

For those lucky enough to catch PRETTY BLEAK supporting Short Stack at a sold out Forum show in Melbourne, the energy the band produces during their live shows is unmatched, and only continues to grow, that same energy is burnt into every track on 'Coming to terms with it all'. Featuring lead single 'How Ironic' alongside their most latest release 'Something's wrong with me' which Sam describes as "a genuine and legitimate process of introspection and reorientation".

The shining, yet blunt ‘To be a narcissist’ marks the EP’s halfway point with vigor, while ‘You can be the river’ brings the EP to a beautiful close. PRETTY BLEAK are hitting the road on a national tour, starting in The Bergy Bandroom in Melbourne on August 15 and Burdekin Hotel in Sydney on August 23.
