The Smith & Western Jury Announce Summer Tour 2025 Following Acclaimed Debut Album
Melbourne/Naarm-based four-piece The Smith & Western Jury are gearing up to hit the road in 2025, bringing their unmistakable sound to fans across Australia. The band’s "The Devil Knows Where I Sleep Summer" Tour will see them perform in select cities and festivals across New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, and South Australia. Kicking off in January and running through March, the tour will include a highly anticipated appearance at the iconic Tamworth Country Music Festival.
The announcement comes hot on the heels of the band’s debut album, 'Hotel Texas', which has already made waves in the country music scene. Named ABC Country’s Album of the Week, the record has been celebrated for its raw authenticity and heartfelt emotion, blending Americana with traditional country influences.
The Smith & Western Jury’s roots stretch far deeper than their recent success. The story begins with Simon and Sam, a couple whose passion for music has spanned over 15 years. Though they initially performed in separate bands, a transformative trip to Nashville in 2015 became the turning point that solidified their musical vision. It was on this trip that the band’s name was born, inspired by a misheard lyric from Dwight Yoakam.
The band’s music is a rich blend of genres, combining the raw energy of punk rock with the timeless twang of classic country.
I grew up on everything from Alanis Morissette to the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and Simon was a huge punk rock fan. One of the first times we hung out was at a Brand New show. We fell in love with country music about ten years ago and really love the classic country sound. Marty Robbins, Buck Owens, Loretta Lynn, Dwight Yoakam, they’ve all influenced us in some way.
This unique mix of influences has helped the band carve out a distinct sound, one that resonates deeply with fans of both modern and traditional country music.
Their debut album, Hotel Texas, has struck a chord with audiences and critics alike. The record’s ability to capture heartfelt storytelling and unpolished emotion has earned praise for its sincerity. Tracks on the album showcase The Smith & Western Jury’s ability to fuse Americana melodies with deeply personal narratives, creating music that feels both timeless and fresh.
With 'The Devil Knows Where I Sleep Summer Tour', The Smith & Western Jury are set to bring their celebrated sound to fans across Australia. From intimate shows to major festivals, this tour is on a must see agenda for lovers of country and Americana music.
Stay tuned for full tour dates and ticket details as The Smith & Western Jury prepare to deliver an unforgettable live experience. If their debut album is any indication, audiences can expect a show filled with passion, energy, and the signature sound that has quickly set this band apart.
