TILE Return with Stirring Sophomore 'Human On Hold Vol. 2'

Melbourne’s alt rock TILE have unveiled their sophomore EP, 'Human On Hold Vol. 2', following a year of high energy live shows supporting artists like Phoebe Go, The Belair Lip Bombs, and Cry Club, TILE deliver a cinematic sequel to their 2024 release.

The EP dives headfirst into post punk urgency, against societal pressures, unrealistic standards, and the endless search for meaning.
“These songs have been with us since the beginning, written and played live around the same time as our first EP, Lyrically, many took shape during the period James was battling chronic fatigue, so bringing them into the same world just made sense”
Recorded at Irenes Warehouse with producer Thomas Keyte and mixed by Holy Holy’s Oscar Dawson, 'Human On Hold Vol. 2' features earlier singles 'Cloud', a stark reflection on feeling out of place,
and 'Is It Any Wonder' lets the song speak for itself, with a slow build up only to get ripped back down.

Its closing track, 'Answer', captures the EP’s restless core, an urgent quest for clarity that only unearths more questions.
Paired with a music video, the song follows James as he moves alongside a mysterious figure, a symbol of the elusive truths we chase but never quite grasp.
“Reflects that maddening push and pull: when you chase it, it disappears; when you let go, it lingers"
From TILE's immersive, echoing influences from The Cure, Bloc Party, and Interpol. 'Human On Hold Vol. 2' solidifies the band’s reputation for marrying sharp, dramatic sounds with raw emotional depth.
