Baker Boy brought an explosion of energy, culture and connection to the Albert Hall in Launceston as part of Tasmania's Winter Solstice festival 'Dark Mofo', delivering a performance that was both celebratory and deeply personal.

Blending sharp lyricism with dynamic production, his set provided the perfect introduction for the night ahead.

When Baker Boy took to the stage, the atmosphere immediately shifted. The multi award winning Yolŋu artist commanded the room with his trademark blend of hip hop, dance and storytelling, moving effortlessly between English and Yolŋu Matha. Baker Boy's performance felt like a powerful act of cultural celebration and reclamation.

Backed by a tight live production and driven by the infectious rhythms of tracks from his latest album 'Djandjay'Baker Boy kept the audience moving throughout the night. Yet it wasn't just the high energy moments that stood out. Some of the most memorable scenes came when he slowed things down, creating a sense of intimacy rarely seen in a venue of this size.

One particularly moving moment saw Baker Boy sit down among the crowd, illuminated by a sea of phone flashlights. The simple gesture transformed Albert Hall into something more personal, reinforcing the connection between artist and audience and highlighting the emotional depth that runs beneath his music.
