GOOD GUMNUTS 2027: THE LINEUP READY TO TAKE OVER LUTRUWITA
What started as a small celebration between friends and family has grown into one of lutruwita/Tasmania’s most loved independent music gatherings, a three day collision of live music, camping, art and community on the North West Coast.
The brainchild of festival directors Harry Badcock and Charlotte Grey, Good Gumnuts began as a one off event to celebrate the couple’s first wedding anniversary. An extended invite, a little ambition and a desire to bring something different to the Coast quickly turned into something much bigger.

Five years later, the festival is heading back to pataway/Burnie’s Agriplex from Friday 5 to Sunday 7 March 2027, and what was once a backyard idea has become an annual pilgrimage for music lovers, artists and campers from across Tasmania and beyond.

That sense of community remains at the heart of Good Gumnuts. Harry and Charlotte have once again curated the festival from top to bottom, putting together a weekend designed as much around discovery as it is the big names, the kind of place where you arrive with a rough plan and inevitably find yourself talking about a band you’d never heard of before.
Now, as Good Gumnuts celebrates its fifth edition, the festival is ready to do what it has always done best, bring people together and make the North West Coast feel like the centre of the musical universe for one big weekend.
And this year, there’s plenty to get excited about.
The Temper Trap
Across four studio albums, including two ARIA #1 debuts, The Temper Trap has amassed well over two billion streams worldwide.
Their seminal 2009 debut Conditions introduced ‘Sweet Disposition’, a song that not only topped charts internationally and achieved multi platinum certification across Australia, New Zealand, the US and UK, but has become part of Australian music culture, placing #11 in Triple J’s 'Hottest 100' Australian Songs of All Time.
One of the most sought after acts in the world, the band have hit some of the biggest festival stages globally, including Glastonbury, Lollapalooza, Primavera, Big Day Out and Laneway Festival.
BENEE
Multi Platinum alt-pop visionary BENEE blends together dreamy melodies, dynamic instrumentation, experimental production, creative storytelling, and larger than life visuals to build a unique and irresistible world of her own.
Following the initial success of her breakthrough debut EPs, the New Zealand-born, Los Angeles-based singer, songwriter, and producer emerged as a global phenomenon in 2020 with her Double Platinum smash hit 'Supalonely' feat. Gus Dapperton solidifying BENEE as a voice of a generation.

Dune Rats
Formed in Brisbane, Australia during 2011 when two stoner buds, guitarist/vocalist Danny Beausa and drummer BC Michaels, decided to make a bunch of lunkheaded punk noise together. Dune Rats recorded their self-titled debut album in 2014, releasing it on their own Ratbag Records imprint.
Their second album, 'The Kids Will Know It's Bullshit', was produced by FIDLAR's Zac Carper and opted for the same no nonsense, all fun approach. It was released on Ratbag in early 2017.
2020's 'Hurry Up and Wait' debuted on the Australian album charts at #1 as well as scoring an ARIA nomination for Best Rock Album. They set out on a tour that ended with a sold-out show in Melbourne on March 7, 2020. Their timing was excellent, as the COVID-19 pandemic put Australia into lockdown just a week later. Touring was put on hold, and after taking a break for a few weeks, they headed to Eden, a small fishing community in NSW, where they isolated together and worked on songs.

Crossover dance music icon Example has been maintaining years of momentum with chart topping singles, career defining festival sets, sold out tours and multiple platinum records.
As an iconic figure, loving father, husband and artist, Example is the front man of multiple generations.
Having spent well over a decade in the game, the UK mainstay has crafted a career drenched in accolades.
Luca Brasi

Meg Mac
Meg's 2022 album ‘Matter of Time’ took out the prestigious #1 position in the ARIA National Album Chart.
The album also charted as #1 Australian Artist Album and #1 Vinyl Album during release week and was Mac’s first ever #1 album, her two previous albums, 2017’s ‘Low Blows’ and 2019’s ‘Hope’ both peaked at #2 and #9, respectively.
‘Matter of Time’ is a record that builds on Mac’s award-winning foundations and sends them to new places of clarity and ambition.
Vera Blue
Vera Blue is one of Australia’s most electrifying contemporary artists, a platinum selling, ARIA nominated force whose voice can shift from intimate fragility to arena level power in a single breath.
She first captured national attention with a haunting folk sensibility, before reinventing herself as Vera Blue, an artist unafraid to evolve. Since then, she has carved out a distinct sonic universe where cinematic electronica meets raw, emotionally charged songwriting.

Babe Rainbow
Babe Rainbow are a stoner pop band from Australia noted for their boogie psychedelia and throwback surf cult imagery.
Formed 2015 in Rainbow Bay by kiosk lurkers, Jack Crowther, Angus Dowling and Elliot O’Reilly. At a time, the three worked for local grower John Cutts in Duranbah NSW near tropical fruit world. John and the guys were cranking out the kale way before it was cool.

Betty Taylor
Betty Taylor can be described as the friend that holds your hand after your hearts been broken.
Betty Taylor is serving up their own distinctive Daydream indie sound. Band members Sophie Patrick (Front woman) Kayla Smart (Lead guitarist) Claire Chittick (Bass) & Katie Ishaque (Drums), together are equal parts power and grace.
Betty Taylor’s unforgettable, often cheeky and beautiful live show has carried them onto stages, playing alongside the likes of Girl in Red, Pacific Avenue, Teenage dads & The Terrys just to name a few.
Dear Sunday
Dear Sunday is the indie rock project of best friends Ben and Mason from Perth, Western Australia, two longtime mates who decided to start making music together and haven’t looked back since.
The duo have quickly built momentum off the back of standout releases and an expanding live presence, highlighted by their collaboration 'Wanna Stay' with Luude.
The track that introduced them to a wider audience and earned a spot on the FIFA game soundtrack, and showcased their crossover appeal into electronic and mainstream pop spaces.
Kinder
Kinder are Briony & Savannah Osei, Ghanaian-Australian sisters who have seen a meteoric rise in 2025 through their incredible collaborations, mashups and live shows.
This past year has taken them from club stages to global festivals, including their performance at Coachella alongside Coco & Breezy, and a support slot on Katy Perry’s sold out Australian arena tour.
A summer European tour led to studio sessions in Idris Elba’s London studio, culminating in their debut release on Elba’s Sound International label. That track, 'Far From Home', features Nigerian vocalist C-Mart and Dutch producer David Mackay, showcasing Kinder’s global outlook and genre fluid sound.
PARK RD
PARK RD are a four piece indie rock band from Tāmaki Makaurau, Aotearoa.
Formed as school friends, the band have quickly formed a reputation as one of Auckland's most exciting new talents. After appearances across the summer at Rhythm & Vines & Soundsplash and supporting bands like Spacey Jane, the bands profile is continuing to grow with each live show.
May 2024 saw the release of 'The Novel', their debut album. The band then toured the album multiple times across NZ and Australia, including supporting The Rions on their Australian tour.
Press Club
Press Club is a four-piece punk rock band from Naarm/Melbourne, Australia, known for their high octane punk energy and electrifying live performances.
Fronted by the powerhouse vocals of Natalie Foster, the band has earned critical acclaim and a loyal following worldwide.
In 2024, they lit up stages across the UK, Europe, and Australia including a monumental 44-date national tour supporting Grinspoon, Press Club somehow found time to create their most introspective and dynamic record to date.
The Slims
After a slew of singles, the band released their debut EP in the summer of 2024, capturing a more refined and explosive sound. The release spent a month in the AMRAP Top 10 Metro charts and received solid support from community radio and Triple J.
Over the course of the year, the band had amassed over one million streams across their catalog, thanks to a growing and dedicated global fanbase.
2025 has seen the release of their Sophomore EP, ’Neon Cowboy’ via Mandatory Music, featuring lead singles ‘Pleasure Club’ and ’Talking in My Sleep’ which in it’s first few months of release has seen well over one million streams globally.
Sycco
Sycco's debut single 'Starboard Square' was released in August 2018. She then went on to release 'Tamed Grief' and 'Peacemaker' in 2019.
In 2020, Sycco released the singles 'Nicotine' and 'Dribble', leading her to be nominated for Triple J 'Unearthed' Artist of the Year at the J Awards of 2020.
Sycco has performed at Laneway Festival ,and Darwin Festival and supported Vera Blue, Spacey Jane and Glass Animals on tour.
Teenage Joans
Since coming onto the scene in 2018, Adelaide’s Teenage Joans have built a loyal fanbase with their raw, indie pop-punk sound.
After winning Triple J 'Unearthed' High in 2020, the duo, Cahli and Tahlia ,released their debut EP 'Taste of Me', charted in Triple J’s 'Hottest 100', and swept the 2021 SAM Awards with a record seven wins.
They’ve since earned multiple ‘Best Punk Artist’ titles and toured extensively across Australia and the US with acts like Foo Fighters, Sleeping With Sirens, Amy Shark and Sum 41.
Vanilla Gorilla
The 7 piece infuses the emotive core of blues, reggae, the ethereal essence of psych-rock, and hints of hip-hop.

WAAX
WAAX is an indie rock band from Brisbane, Australia, known for their electrifying energy, emotionally charged songwriting, and powerful live performances.
Formed in 2013, the band quickly gained recognition for their unique blend of punk, rock, and alternative influences, building a loyal following both locally and internationally.

Big Alcatraz
Alt Punk from Lutruwita/Tasmania. Formed in Queenstown.
The band uses busy bass lines and guitar hooks to make a huge sound out of three instruments, drawing inspiration from QOTSA, The Living End and Grinspoon.
With Ben on Guitar and Vocals, Bevan on Bass and Backing Vocals and Jimmy on Drums.
BOCCE
Based out of nipaluna / Hobart, Australia, BOCCE is a five piece alt rock outfit blending the sun drenched tonality of surf-rock with the anthemic nostalgia of ’90s indie.
With a growing reputation across the Australian music scene, the band continues to captivate audiences through compelling songwriting and rousing live performances.
Following showcases at the 2025 edition of South by Southwest (SXSW) Sydney, and supports alongside Ball Park Music, Teenage Dads, Pacific Avenue and Old Mervs, BOCCE has steadily built momentum both on and off the stage.
Appearances at major festivals including Great Escape and Party in the Paddock further cement their place as one of Tasmania’s most exciting emerging acts.
Charlie Woods
Charlie Woods is a soulful folk singer/songwriter from Lutruwita, Tasmania.
Creating music that reflects all aspects of a young person’s life, growing up in a small town and finding themselves as a queer artist. Pouring their experiences and struggles into each word that makes up the skeleton of their musical creations.
Beginning their performance journey at 17 in local bars and restaurants, Charlie has since grown into a compelling live act, supporting artists such as Ruby Fields, Keli Holiday, The Sleepyheads, Claire Anne Taylor, Sick Visor and Mike Elrington.
Chatters
After releasing his debut EP 'What Am I Doing' in 2026 , Chatters is back with another serving of his upbeat, fun, party-licious hip hop jams that also blur the lines between alt-pop.
Fans of Drapht, Butterfingers, 360 and Seth Sentry will find plenty to devour among the seven tracks that were produced with fellow local Uncool Sam.
CHEAP-SKATE
In 2026, launched CHEAP-YEAR, one release every week for the entire year.
Songs, EPs and experiments all written, recorded, mixed and mastered solo in a garage studio. That same year, he brought the project to national TV on Australian Idol, introducing a prime time audience to the project in a comedic vein.
Since starting in 2022, CHEAP-SKATE has landed on Triple J, Rage, Triple M and WIN News, won Triple J'Unearthed'’s NYE on the Hill competition, and released the debut album 'Remember You Will Die' produced by Jake Kougioumtzis at Bad Charm Recordings.
DENNI
Is a proud Truwulway woman and multidisciplinary artist from Lutruwita/Tasmania, carving out one of the most distinct voices in Australian music.
A powerful storyteller for her people, she’s been instrumental in bringing palawa-kani back into contemporary sound, delivering culture, language and truth through tracks like 'Strongest Mob' and 'Lutruwita'.
Also known as Madam Pakana, DENNI is a seasoned performer and festival favourite, with over a decade of touring nationwide. Her sound blends electronic hip-hop with touches of indie and folk, grounded, genre-bending and unmistakably her own.
Exit Plan
are a crotch-rocking, eclectic, shocking and groove-interlocking Indie Rock band from Murray Bridge, South Australia.
First formed in a tent years ago by brothers Seth and Cooper Clark.
From there the raw, unfiltered rhythms slowly formed into what's now known as Exit Plan with the addition of Bassist, Nick Tarasenko and Guitarist, Jayden Waterman.
Iris and The 99 Bends
are a five piece ethereal sledge rock band from Lutruwita/Tasmania.
The band features acclaimed vocalist performer Shannon and four of Tasmania's top-notch musicians (Ian, Vince, Levi and Orri).
Shannon was born and bred in Queenstown. Her connection to home is unequivocally captured within the band's original songs. Iris and The 99 Bends possess an unforgettable stage presence and dynamic as a collective, and cannot wait to share the love with you all.

Australian Indie staple LOVELOVELOVE pushes the indie genre boundaries, blending complex emotion & feeling into unique feel-good records.
2022 marked the beginning of the project with strongly anticipated debut EP. 'ULTRAVIOLET' was released November as the first single, earning a premier on Triple J 'Unearthed' national radio.

Lune Ranger

Panned To The Sloman
Panned to the Sloman is a DJ and producer from North-West Tasmania who thrives on flipping grooves sideways and keeping the dancefloor alive. Known for his gritty, funk-driven sound, he digs deep into ghetto funk, blending chunky bass lines, hip-hop cuts, and breakbeat swagger into a signature style that’s equal parts raw energy and smooth flow.
Runyamouth
are a high-energy, three piece indie alt-rock punk band from lutuwita/Tasmania.
Their music explores real life struggles, and celebrates the messy beauty of just being human.
They believe in standing up for what's right, equity, inclusivity, kindness, compassion, and having a good time.
Saint-Tropez

Shorehaven
are a Boorloo/Perth based female fronted indie pop rock band, fusing the warmth of Australian indie rock with the punch and nostalgia of 2000s pop rock and pop punk.
Inspired by artists like boygenius, Phoebe Bridgers, Julia Jacklin and Hayley Williams, their sound captures a sense of youthful nostalgia while still feeling modern and exciting.
They’ve shared stages with Rum Jungle, Pacific Avenue and Drax Project, earning a reputation for high energy, fun live shows.
Spici Water
is an Indie Rock band from Perth, Western Australia. Their music is inspired by Australian artists such as Skegss, Hockey Dad and Spacey Jane.
This group has been gaining quite the following in the Perth music scene, Playing alongside the likes of Dice, Old Mervs, King Stingray, South Summit, Peach Fur, The Rions & Dear Sunday.
Spooky Eyes
Erupting through the streets of Hobart comes Spooky Eyes, the loudest band in Tasmania/Lutruwita, punishing ears with their eclectic brand of amplified psychedelic blues.
What started as a solo project by frontman Jude Hastings quickly evolved into a full blown live show, swapping jangly chords and synths for fuzzed out riffs and a thumping rhythm section. Their new sound rooted in the blues and rock of the early 60s and 70s.
And if the first five years have taught Good Gumnuts anything, it’s that the best things rarely go exactly to plan.
With the first wave of the 2027 lineup now revealed, the festival’s fifth edition is already taking shape, but this is only the beginning.
