Luca Brasi Celebrate 10 Years of 'If This Is All We're Going To Be' with a Triumphant Tassie Homecoming
Tasmanian melodic punk favourites Luca Brasi delivered a powerful and emotional performance at Du cane brewing in Launceston on Saturday night, capping their 10 year anniversary tour of seminal album 'if this is all we're going to be', reminding everyone just why they remain one of Australia's most beloved live bands.

The night started with Glass Media , a trio out of Hobart who have been honing their skills playing every live show and festival they can get their hands on. Their dedication shows in their performance, serving up a powerful and heartfelt set which slowly filled the room.
Next up Sydney band Secret World took the stage and from the first beat they commanded the room. These guys have plenty of experience playing in bands and playing live shows and it's pretty clear from the way they play that they absolutely froth it.

Their set was tight , heavy and loud. They had the crowd sweaty, screaming and on their toes. Secret World has a unique blend of hardcore and a more dreamy punk, creating a fresh yet nostalgic feeling wall of sound that draws you in and gets you moving, perfectly priming the crowd for their hometown heroes.

By the time Luca Brasi were up the crowd had filled up and packed in tight, a full room of loyal locals keen to see a group of guys many of them consider mates and an energy sank in that felt special. Luca Brasi formed here in Tassie and the guys consider Launnie shows their local. They made a name for themselves making working class punk music and performing it round local pubs.
From the raw youthful chaos of their early albums to the more heartfelt songwriting on 2016 album 'if this is all we're going to be' , these became the songs that soundtracked break ups, make ups, move ins and house parties, but also those quiet moments of self reflection and doubt, for an entire generation of Tasmanians , and Australians on the whole.

These songs have created and let flourish an unmistakable connection between Luca Brasi and their fans/mates. This shared community connection was present all night and it filled the room with an energy that really hugged the crowd and the band tight. Tonight's show was everything you'd hope and expect, soaring choruses, massive riffs and raw emotion.
There's something genuine about Luca Brasi and their shows, small town roots, big energy, zero charade. They opened with 'aeroplane' and instantly had the crowd hooked, singing every lyric back at them with fists in the air and grins on their chins. Vocalist Tyler Richardson commands the crowd with respect and delivers a deeply relatable and passionate performance, fat and fine drum beats from Danny Flood keep the band rolling all night and the boys on guitar Patrick Marshall and Tom Busby play with a fierce rhythmic intensity that simply doesn't let you go. They played a massive set performing the better part of 'if this is all we're going to be' plus some extras from across their catalogue and ending with fan favourite Luca Brasi like a version covers 'iris' and 'how to make gravy'.
Their decade old album 'if this is all we're going to be' continues to draw meaning for new crowds while only becoming more powerful to old fans. Their shows just hit different, especially in their ol' stompin' ground Launnie. Thanks to Du cane for putting on the show
